Tamil Nadu International Kite Festival 2025 Concludes with Flying Colours

Mahabalipuram, August 18, 2025 – The 4th edition of the Tamil Nadu International Kite Festival (TNIKF) came to a spectacular close on August 17, 2025, at Thiruvidanthai Beach, East Coast Road, near Mahabalipuram.

The four-day event, held from August 14 to 17, transformed the scenic coastline into a canvas of vibrant colors and creativity. From giant kites shaped like whales and superheroes to traditional Indian designs, the skies were filled with breathtaking displays that captivated thousands of visitors.

Families, tourists, and kite enthusiasts from across India and abroad gathered to enjoy not only the kite-flying spectacles but also a carnival-like atmosphere featuring live music, food stalls, cultural programs, and a dedicated kids’ zone.

Organized with the support of the Tamil Nadu Tourism Department, the festival also promoted sustainable tourism, with an emphasis on eco-friendly kite materials and community participation.

Speaking at the closing ceremony, organizers expressed their gratitude for the overwhelming response and confirmed that planning for next year’s festival is already underway, with expectations of even greater international participation.
