International Kite Festival 2026 – Gujarat – Gujarat Tourism

Gujarat is set to welcome the New Year with a spectacular splash of color as the International Kite Festival (IKF) 2026 returns this January, transforming the skies across multiple iconic destinations in the state. Organized by Gujarat Tourism, the festival will celebrate the spirit of Uttarayan with vibrant kite-flying events, cultural performances, and global participation.

This year, the festival takes a unique travelling format, spreading the excitement beyond Ahmedabad to showcase Gujarat’s diverse landscapes and heritage. From coastal breezes to historic towns and desert vistas, each location will offer a distinct kite-flying experience.

Festival Schedule:

  • 10 January 2026: Rajkot, Surat, Dholavira
  • 11 January 2026: Shivrajpur, SOU – Ekta Nagar, Vadnagar
  • 12–14 January 2026: Ahmedabad

International and national kite flyers will display artistic and innovative kites, while visitors can enjoy traditional music, local cuisine, and cultural activities that reflect Gujarat’s rich traditions. The grand finale in Ahmedabad is expected to draw massive crowds, continuing the city’s legacy as the heart of Uttarayan celebrations.
